Bio
Taegon Kim is an assistant professor at the Department of Smart Farm at the Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) in South Korea. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in rural systems engineering and his B.S. in agricultural civil engineering from Seoul National University in South Korea.
Dr. Kim has considerable experience working on multi-disciplinary research teams with modeling, simulation, and visualization studies: quantifying nitrogen loss hotspots in the U.S. corn belt, food supply chain modeling, numerical structure analysis, indicating agricultural drought, estimating carbon and water footprints in the agriculture sector, detecting community structures, and calculating circuity factors. He has published 81 articles based on these studies. At JBNU, he is now developing and implementing digital agriculture models. It is a simulation platform that will allow researchers to efficiently build, test, evaluate, and visualize models related to a better farming system called Smart Farm. He also wrote a book about web development using Django.
